Artist's Comments

"To photograph is to appropriate the thing photographed. It means putting oneself into a certain relation to the world that feels like knowledge --and, therefore, like power."

Great angle, great eye, great reflection, great photo. Congrats! It surely deserves a +fav I guess. :)

Come, come, whoever you are,
Wanderer, idolater, worshiper of fire,
Come even though you have broken your vows a thousand times,
Come, and come yet again.
Ours is not a caravan of despair.

that looks really neat, I love the angle, the make up, the focus and everything in general ^_^
would you mind if I did a sketch of the pic? the urge to draw an inexplicibly detailed eye is overwhelming and this is a really great photo ^_^

I find it mildly amusing in that, while en masse america is against gays, if you blend the colors red, white and blue together you come out with a lovely shade of lavender.

Omg I loooooove this sort of angle on eyes! I've taken a few pics like this myself to paint for things... and just sketching and things like that... The angle is really effective =D

Than you so much. I really loved your "Mirrors do lie". Please compare it to my "Mirror mirror on the wall":

Thanks so much for your comment. I visited your page and loved the macros. I wish you would sometimes write a little note in English to help us a bit. Did you come up with the quote in your signature?
:iconamelo14:
Thank you so much!! I find this angle somewhat too strong. The eye becomes menacing to a certain extent. And yet the eye is one of the most beautiful and fragile human features. But if you think about it, it is great specially if one thinks about how we might have become so addicted to our video cameras and digital cameras, that we might no longer be able to see the world.
:iconamelo14:
Thanks so much for your thoughful commentary. Don't you find the image too strong? By the way, I will ask the eye's owner if she accepts the sketch idea!!!
:iconlici-rocker:
Yes, that is quite true... But prehaps it looks better with the menacing look... You of all people should know that sometimes art doesnt turn out how you intended, yet it often ends up looking better than what you planned.
